Perfumer
Violaine Collas likes contrast and often puts smells that rarely meet into the same perfume. She is a senior perfumer at Mane in Paris, and for Milano Fragranze she has made perfumes inspired by Milan.
She was born in Paris, and her parents taught her early to love good food and fine ingredients. She trained at ISIPCA and spent the first twelve years of her career at Symrise before moving to Mane. She has worked for houses such as Etat Libre d’Orange and Amouage.
Collas works patiently until opposite smells in a perfume go well together. So one of her perfumes pairs chilli with rose, and another incense with warm milk. Her childhood love of food comes through in her perfumes too. Brera is named after Milan’s artists’ district and La Prima after opening night at La Scala. Basilica recalls the inside of a Milan basilica.
