Perfumer
Mathis Molinié is a chef, not a perfumer, but he co-created Mezcal Chocolat for French Cowboy with Ashley Santiago. She made the perfume, and the idea of pairing smoky mezcal with cacao was his.
Molinié is a popular French chef. French Cowboy, the house founded by perfumer Ashley Santiago, made its first perfumes with people from outside the perfume business, and he was one of the first. That’s why he is named as the perfume’s co-author.
As a chef, Molinié started from two flavours rarely found together in perfume, mezcal and dark chocolate. It’s only slightly sweet, like dark chocolate, and the bitterness and smoke keep it from smelling like sweets. It’s warm and woody, more for evening than daytime.
