Perfumer
Leslie Hendin, a designer from California, taught herself perfumery. She co-founded Liis with Alissa Sullivan and leads its creative side. Liis perfumes are clean and airy, and they stay close to the skin.
She grew up in Marin County. She has worked as creative lead for the brand Vintner’s Daughter. At Liis she looks after design and the whole look of the house. She also works on the scents with Alissa, so every Liis perfume is hers too.
Leslie is a designer, so she doesn’t like anything superfluous in a perfume either. Each perfume keeps to a few clear notes. A rose, a sweet scent or a sea scent from Liis is lighter and cleaner than most. Rose Struck is an airy rose with blackcurrant and matcha, and Lucienne smells of fresh, salty coastal air. None of them is overpowering.
