Perfumer
Ilias Ermenidis is a Greek perfumer inspired by art and opera. For Nissaba, a house that links each perfume to one region, he made the spicy Tierra Maya and the floral Malli Nadu.
He spent years at Firmenich, working in New York and Paris. For Nissaba he made Tierra Maya in 2023, a perfume inspired by the land of the Maya in Mexico. Malli Nadu came out a year later, dedicated to jasmine from Tamil Nadu in southern India.
His perfumes for Nissaba don’t smell literally like the places they’re dedicated to. He takes a few scents from each region and combines them freely. The main ingredients in his perfumes are easy to pick out. Tierra Maya is warm, with cinnamon and rose, while Malli Nadu is brighter and greener.
