Perfumer
Hamid Merati-Kashani is a principal perfumer at DSM-Firmenich. For Sasva he made the warm, woody Junoon and the fruity Fruit du Paradis. His perfumes are rich and full, but easy to wear.
He was born in Germany to an Iranian father and a German mother. He spent his childhood in Isfahan, among the rose fields the city is known for, and that scent is why he went into perfumery. He has made his career at Firmenich, now DSM-Firmenich.
He likes fruit, wood and warm, spicy scents, and both his perfumes for Sasva have them. The rose of his childhood is in Junoon, next to saffron and oud. The name means passion or obsession in Persian and Urdu, and the perfume really is strong. Fruit du Paradis is lighter and fruitier, with pomegranate and mango.
