Illustrated portrait of Enzo Galardi, Florentine perfumer and founder of AntiQua Firenze

Perfumer

Enzo Galardi

Florentine Enzo Galardi has founded several Italian perfume houses, among them AntiQua Firenze, which is named after his home city. His perfumes are rich, warm and classical.

Who is Enzo Galardi

He grew up in his grandfather’s perfume workshop, where he learned to tell scents apart and to make perfume the traditional way. Over the years he launched the brands Bois 1920, IO.KO 1954, Profumo di Firenze 1954 and Olfattology. He presented AntiQua Firenze in 2017. After all those brands, he wanted a collection devoted to his native Florence, for people who value craftsmanship.

Signature style

Galardi doesn’t care for minimalism, but his perfumes never feel crowded. The quality of the ingredients comes first. He likes rich, woody perfumes with amber, such as Voluttà and Amore & Psiche, and he doesn’t shy away from full, warm vanilla either, as in Opulent Vanilla. Florence and Tuscany are frequent themes.
