Perfumer
Italian perfumer Cristian Calabrò made Fior di Pane for Profumo di Firenze, a gourmand that smells of bread just out of the oven. Iris and vanilla sit alongside the bread.
Calabrò works as an independent perfumer with modern niche houses. Besides Fior di Pane, he’s credited with Latte e Mandorla and Buontalenti for the same Florentine house. Fior di Pane came out in 2023. It was meant to bring back childhood and the smell of fresh bread.
Calabrò likes perfumes that recall everyday Italian life, bread or milk with almonds. For him, a gourmand perfume doesn’t have to smell of sweets. Fior di Pane is warm and slightly powdery, and Latte e Mandorla, as the name says, smells of milk and almonds.
