Fresh summer perfumes with citrus, mint and sea notes

A sunny sandy beach

Fresh summer perfumes can recall mint lemonade, sea air or skin after a swim. For some, summer smells of citrus; for others, salt, coconut and flowers.

We have chosen five perfumes for different summer tastes. A'mmare and Electro Limonade emphasise aromatic freshness, Sur La Plage and Ça Boum pair the sea with flowers, and Paradiso adds pepper and woods to citrus.

From citrus to beach scents

Teo Cabanel Sur La Plage

Bottle of Teo Cabanel Sur La Plage in a woman's hand at the beach

Sur La Plage combines salt and coconut water with frangipani and jasmine. Driftwood, tonka and mineral notes round out the fragrance. Coconut recalls the beach here, with the freshness of salt and the softness of flowers.

If you enjoy a seaside scent with coconut, try it alongside Ça Boum. Tonka brings warmth to Sur La Plage, while vanilla and immortelle do the same in Ça Boum.

Teo Cabanel Ça Boum

In Ça Boum, salty, iodine-like notes accompany sand lily, rose and jasmine. Vanilla and immortelle add warmth, mixing marine freshness with sweetness.

Ça Boum may appeal if you want a summer scent for the evening too and enjoy the combination of salt, flowers and vanilla.

Carthusia A'mmare

Bottle of Carthusia A'mmare by the sea and cliffs

A'mmare pairs bergamot, rosemary and salt with watery notes and mint. Cedar, guaiac wood, patchouli and musk give it a woody finish.

Mint and rosemary emphasise the freshness of the sea. A'mmare is worth trying if you prefer herbs and salt to coconut and vanilla.

L'Orchestre Electro Limonade

Bottle of L'Orchestre Electro Limonade with lemons and mint

Electro Limonade combines lemon, bergamot and clementine with mint, rhubarb and orange blossom. It recalls cold lemonade or a citrus cocktail with mint leaves.

Rhubarb brings a tart freshness, while mint adds its herbal scent. Electro Limonade may appeal if you love distinct citrus notes in summer.

Pigmentarium Paradiso

Bottle of Pigmentarium Paradiso with splashing water

Paradiso pairs grapefruit, mandarin and rhubarb with juniper berries and pepper. Vetiver and patchouli give it a greener, woody finish.

Try Paradiso if you love grapefruit and also want woody notes. Compared with Electro Limonade, pepper, vetiver and patchouli are more prominent here.

How to test a summer perfume

For a beach scent with flowers, try Sur La Plage and Ça Boum. A'mmare and Electro Limonade offer mint and freshness, while Paradiso pairs citrus with woods.

Try a summer perfume on a warm day. Smell it again later to check whether the sweetness and intensity still suit you. Start with a small amount.

If you prefer sweet scents in summer, explore summer gourmand perfumes. Our coconut perfume guide offers more combinations of fruit, flowers and the sea.
